Supportive In-Home Care Services

Whether your pet is aging, declining, or facing a terminal diagnosis, I offer hands-on, non-medical support to help improve comfort and quality of life at home. These services are tailored to your pet’s needs and comfort level—offered with compassion, respect, and the goal of making each day a little easier for both of you.

Our in-home care services are billed at $45 per hour, with no partial or incremental charges.
You’re welcome to mix and match the type of support you receive during each session. The services are grouped into categories simply to help organize and explain what I offer—but every visit is tailored to your unique needs, not limited by labels. This approach ensures you receive exactly the time and care you need—no more, no less—without the stress of unpredictable fees.

Quality of Life Assessments

When you're unsure how your pet is truly doing, a quality of life assessment can offer clarity, comfort, and guidance. I use a trusted Quality of Life Scale along with thoughtful, personalized discussions to help you better understand your pet’s physical and emotional well-being.

Assessments include:

  • Observing key areas such as mobility, appetite, comfort, engagement, and hygiene
  • Customizing questions based on your pet’s condition and your family’s goals
  • Providing tracking tools and printable logs to monitor changes over time
  • Offering compassionate, judgment-free conversations about what the results may mean and what next steps feel right for you and your pet

Pricing: $85 per assessment. Approximately 60-75 minutes.

Daily Assessments & Tracking

Daily check-ins can help you stay attuned to your pet’s comfort, identify patterns, and feel more confident in making care decisions. I provide tools and support to help you monitor your pet’s well-being with clarity and compassion.

This service includes:

  • Printable or digital daily check-in templates
  • Guidance on what signs to observe and how to document them
  • Help interpreting trends—such as shifts in mobility, mood, or appetite
  • Optional daily text or email check-ins for added support and encouragement

Pricing: $55 per week. 1-2 check-ins daily.

Personalized End-of-Life Planning

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy—but having a thoughtful plan can ease anxiety and bring a sense of peace and preparedness. This service offers gentle, judgment-free support to help you explore what a meaningful, compassionate goodbye looks like for your pet and your family.

Together, we will:

  • Talk through fears, hopes, and beliefs around death and grief
  • Explore what a “good death” means to you and your pet
  • Discuss signs of decline and when euthanasia may be the kindest choice
  • Review what to expect during euthanasia or a natural passing
  • Create a detailed comfort plan, including who will be present, where it will take place, and how the space will be prepared
  • Collaborate on goodbye rituals, legacy projects, and meaningful ways to include children or other pets
  • Assist with decisions around in-home vs. clinic euthanasia, aftercare, and memorial keepsakes
  • Provide clear, step-by-step instructions so you know exactly what to do when the time comes
  • Offer emergency planning support in the event of a sudden decline

Pricing: $150 per plan. Includes written care plan and 60-90 min consult.

Ritual & Ceremony Planning

Creating meaningful moments can bring comfort, connection, and healing during the end-of-life journey. I offer guidance in planning personalized rituals and ceremonies that honor the unique bond you share with your pet. Each ritual is designed with care to reflect your values, beliefs, and the deep love you hold for your companion.

  • Anticipatory Goodbyes – Thoughtfully planned moments before loss, including readings, music, candle lighting, blessings, or spoken words.
  • Final Farewell Ceremonies – Held at home, in a veterinary office, or at the place of euthanasia, offering space for last goodbyes, shared memories, and the placing of meaningful items.
  • Memorial Ceremonies – Storytelling, poetry, photo displays, ash-scattering, burial rituals, or celebrations of life tailored to your wishes.
  • Legacy Rituals – Creation of keepsakes like paw prints, memory boxes, or scrapbooks, and planning of “bucket list” moments to honor your pet’s life.
  • Pet & Child Connection Rituals – Age-appropriate ways to involve children, using storybooks, art, memory jars, and symbolic activities to help them say goodbye.

Pricing: $150 per ceremony plan. 60-90 minute planning session.

Legacy Project Support

Legacy projects are a beautiful way to celebrate your pet’s life, preserve cherished memories, and create something tangible to hold onto after they’re gone. I offer compassionate, hands-on support to help bring your ideas to life—even if you’re unsure where to start or feeling overwhelmed by grief.

Together, we can:

  • Create keepsakes like paw prints, nose prints, or fur clippings
  • Assemble memory boxes or scrapbooks filled with photos, collars, and meaningful mementos
  • Write letters to or from your pet using guided prompts and emotional support
  • Design photo albums, slideshows, or memorial videos
  • Plan symbolic memorials such as garden stones or tree plantings
  • Support joyful "bucket list" experiences during your pet's final days
  • Begin a memory journal filled with stories, quirks, and favorite moments
  • Offer creative inspiration tailored to your pet and family, and connect you with local artists or keepsake vendors if desired

Pricing: $45 per 60 minute session.

Aftercare & Body Disposition Guidance

After a pet passes, families are often left unsure of what to do next—emotionally and practically. I’ll walk you through available aftercare options so you can make informed choices that feel right for you and your pet. I can also assist with pre-planning, helping you arrange these details ahead of time to reduce stress in the moment.

Support may include:

  • Education on cremation options (private, individual, and communal), aquamation, home burial, and cemetery interment

  • Coordination with veterinarians and crematories to honor your preferences
  • Guidance on what to expect—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—after your pet passes
  • Help creating a sacred space for sitting with your pet’s body
  • Gentle instruction on body care if transport or pickup is delayed
  • Support in selecting or creating meaningful keepsakes like paw prints, fur clippings, nose prints, ash jewelry, or urns
  • Referrals to trusted local crematoriums, pet cemeteries, transport services, and grief support resources

Pricing: $45 per 60 minute session

Please note: all services provided are non-medical in nature.
As an End-of-Life Pet Doula, I offer emotional, spiritual, and practical support—but I do not provide veterinary care, diagnoses, or medical treatment. My role is to walk beside you with compassion and presence, complementing—but never replacing—your trusted veterinary team.

In-person care is available throughout York, PA and surrounding areas. For those outside of this region, many services can still be offered with meaningful connection via Zoom or FaceTime—so no matter where you are, you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
